on a house in the oakland hills. it happened around 3:30 this morning on oakwood drive, the tree estimated to be 75 foot tall crashed down on the corner of the roof. the downed tree also brought traffic on oakwood drive to a stop. firefighters say they do not know what caused that tree to fall. >>> an investigation is underway into a crash involving a scooter and a santa clara county sheriffs patrol car. the accident happened before 12:30 this morning in the area of west heading street and the alameda. investigators are trying to determine if one of the drivers may have run a red light. two people on the it scooter were taken to the hospital but their injuries are not believed to be serious. the deputy in the patrol car was not hurt. the vehicle sustained damage to the right front bumper. a couple of san francisco police cars will be out of action after an unusual crash. officers were investigating an argument on the 4000 block of mission street. police say pickup truck sideswiped a patrol car, sending it into a second police car. witnesses say officers had to scramble to avoid getting hit

close to an oakland woman missing since thursday are frustrated with efforts to find her. family and freeways of the woman held a prayer vigil yesterday in the neighborhood where she lived. the 31-year-old was last seen on a surveillance video on thursday morning at the corner of telegraph and 34th avenue. the missing woman's mom says that the response from oakland police has been slow in the critical days after she disappeared. >> it is important when people disappear like this, the police need to get on it right away and not think they left on their own accord especially with the circumstances being what they are. >> we tried to contact the oakland police department for a comment and the kept -- department has yet to respond the. >> speeding may have caused a weekend accident in daly city that killed three members of the same family. another passenger was seriously injured in the two car collision on saturday night west of 280. family members and friends of the victims gathered at site yesterday. people in the neighborhood say that drivers routinely exceed the posted speed limi

a k-9 member of the richmond police department. period foot express headquartered in east oakland, is matching the $10,000 reward offered by two police unions. the police dog was poisoned at the home of the officer he partners with. guns were stolen from the home, as well, and the officer's family dog died after it was also poisoned. ought man charged with stealing a lux i didn't rate and running it aground is preparing his defense from the san mateo county jail. the other two were arrested and they is been released. the 63-year-old has pleaded not guilty to grand theft, receiving stolen property, and vandalism accused of stealing the 82' yacht and damage it on the shoreline. the others taken off the boat, a 56-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man did not know the yacht was stolen. >> our investigation convinced us they were unwitting and they understood him to have inherited the boat and they are witnesses at this point. >> the prosecution will hold the suspect liable for damages to the yacht which are estimated at 500,000 as well as the cost of the we coast guard recovery effort

at oakland 1/8 of a mile. the fog still hugging parts of the shoreline. extending out toward berkeley and richmond. in the afternoon hours we will warm things up. that will translate to a few spots approaching the 80-degree mark this afternoon. the cooler end of the temperature range right near the immediate shoreline. there's our forecast model in the short term show you the dense fog between now and 10:00. and then into the afternoon hours still picking up a few left over patches from parts of the coastline. this forecast model clears it out completely. we could have a few left over patches. 8:00 this morning areas of fog 42-52 degrees. relatively clear skies well inland. by 12:00 still patchy coastal fog. and 3:00 mild to warm. there is the eventual temperature range and a few low 80s showing up. brentwood we will go to 80. san jose a forecast high of 76. and look at gilroy 80 degrees. look ahead your five-day forecast a little cooler for your thursday. no major changes with partly sunny skies by the weekend. >>> time now 5:10. the fatal cra

an oakland rapper on the las vegas strip and causing a fiery crash is scheduled to be in a los angeles courtroom later today. lamar harris will attend an identification hearing. he is asking prosecutors to prove he is lamar harris before they extradite him. it is not clear who will testify. he got in a fight with oakland rapper, kenny "clutch" cherry on february 21st. he allegedly chased cherry down las vegas boulevard and fired five shots in the maserati he was driving. he hit another man and killed the driver and passenger. >>> the woman accused of kicking a toddler on golden gate park on monday is expected to be in court. 24-year-old sabrina bell allegedly walked past a man and his daughter and kicked the little girl in her chest. luckily, she was not seriously hurt. they say she threatened to kill other children before running away. no word on what provoked that attack. >> parents at a morgan hill daycare want to know why it took so long for staff to report a teacher after she allegedly tried to drug a group of toddlers. dozens of administrators meeting at the kiddy academy. friday

in the north bay. santa rosa visibility there three quarter of a mile. latest observation at oakland 1/8 of a mile. the fog still hugging parts of the shoreline. extending out toward berkeley and richmond. in the afternoon hours we will warm things up. that will translate to a few spots approaching the 80-degree mark this afternoon. the cooler end of the temperature range right near the immediate shoreline. there's our forecast model in the short term show you the dense fog between now and 10:00. and then into the afternoon hours still picking up a few left over patches from parts of the coastline. this forecast model clears it out completely. we could have a few left over patches. 8:00 this morning areas of fog 42-52 degrees. relatively clear skies well inland. by 12:00 still patchy coastal fog. and 3:00 mild to warm. there is the eventual temperature range and a few low 80s showing up. brentwood we will go to 80. san jose a forecast high of 76. and look at gilroy 80 degrees. look ahead your five-day forecast a little cooler for your thursday. no major changes with partly sunny skies

. san francisco, oakland -- it is san francisco, i'm being told. but again, we have overcast skies. some of us dealing with patchy dense fog, once again. i'm starting out with a still shot of the radar and you can see rain in washington, oregon is drive. california, high and dry. temperatures will continue to warm under this ridge of high pressure. a little bit of moist flow at times. a weak, weak onshore breeze bringing back the clouds and patchy fog. the ridge of high pressure, the associated sinking area is helping to pin it to the ground. you can imagine it kind of pushing it down as it -- as it continues to strengthen. that's what we're seeing this morning. widespread, patchy, dense, novato and petaluma reporting visibility down to .25. san jose overcast skies but it doesn't look like it's right there at the ground level. so you should be okay. but just take it easy out there. notice it is widespread. half moon bay reported visibility three miles right now. as we progress to the morning hours, it will burn off by 8:00, 9:00. looking better. by 10:00, 11:00, it takes until it finally

and novato 39. oakland 50 degrees and hayward reporting 50. as far as the fog there is a factor to the immediate shoreline. santa rosa reporting dense fog and also really thick patches. the fog basically shoots right on to the golden gate bridge. berkeley is basically a magnet for the fog. that is why you see all the fog this morning. that will be somewhat of a concern. short term dense fog for coast and bay. clearing skies near the shoreline into the afternoon hours. warmest locations will be approaching the 80-degree mark. storm track heads way up to the north for now as high pressure is still in command of our weather. the sinking air that is warming air and one of the warmest days of the week. we still have a bit of an on shore breeze so the beaches patchy fog could break up a bit. temperature in the 60s. the other extreme temperatures will reach 70-80 degrees. here's our forecast model showing you the fog. here we are at 8:00 and 9:00. a few left over patches near the coast. and into the afternoon hours this particular forecast kind of scales back a bit on the coverage. we
